Red Bull Appreciation Dinner

The Red Bull rookies did very well during Merdeka Millenium Endurance Race. They got 6th place (which is incredibly impressive).

Everyone is pleased with their performance (and also the success of the project). I am extremely proud with the girls. Honestly. I saw their progress and being there during the race was a wonderful experience (and i got myself into a big trouble over a bet!)

Anyway, Red Bull hosted an appreciation dinner for the partners & sponsors. Everone worked really hard and deserves a party!

Aidilfitri Potluck

Aidilfirti is coming to an end and i have not had the chance for a proper celebration with my extended family.

This year has been pretty weird. The celebration is a month long but i haven't seen any of my friends sice Fedo's birthday.

I did what i had to do. SMS blast and calls. Unlike previous years (where we had open house @ my place... eveyone in their traditional outfit) we went ahead with the most simple plan. Potluck. Since it's a working day, no dresscode. Just food and hang out.

The plan was made less then 24hrs but suprisingly, no bad turn-up! And it was a good party.

Everything went well. Except for an incident before the party. I was really mad and sad. Anyway, i'm glad to have friends to do all this. It's a huge piece of our lives. and one should always appreciate it.

All of the above was executed in the same week. I can never ask for a more exciting life! It's crazy, challenging and fun!

I dont have the energy to blog about every single event. So, this entry will make do la aah?

On a personal note, things that happen to me are like black or white, 0 or 1, high or low, up or down. When I'm up - higher than the sky; when I'm down - deeper than the ocean. But I have no complains.

I try to look for the silver lining of every single cloud and so far it's pretty smooth. I notice that i'm enjoying all the travelling i need to do. I try to socialize a little bit more, get out of my routine and to top it off, my body system has activated a mission for a gastronomic adventure (Cool coincidence huh?)

I’m comfortable being “The happy person” or “The problem solver” or just a cheer-up shoulder. Being optimistic does not mean you’re hiding your depression. It’s just management.

Life is good. Alhamdulillah.

I have been very succesful in putting on weight! Suprisingly, by the end of Ramadhan, i was 60KG. For the record, i have always been 51-52.

Tried loads of stuff... weight gain, gym, eat like hell. But nothing really worked. But I notice my appetite has been pretty wild during Ramadhan. I got addicted to Oreos.

I need another 6-9KG to meet my ideal weight.

That also means, i need to change my wardrobe. It's been challenging to fit into my fav pants/ jeans nowadays...

But it's ok. I'm lovin it! Honestly, i'm tired of listening "You're too skinny!".

Shopping for the wedding

This is not another post with controversial title. It's NOT for my wedding.

I had so many swearing & freaked out messages from my last post. Haha.. (Now I know who reads my blog).

I'm a Father!

Yes. I am a "Daddy" now. It's a boy. The name is Iskandar Faleeq and he is super cute.

Ok, my mum might faint if someone go and tell her this. Haha...

He is my son, but his full name is Iskandar Faleeq Bin Mohd Iskandar Dzulkarnain. My dear friends, Iskandar & Eliz became parents recently and they made me the Godfather.

It was truly an honour to be selected even though I have absolutely no idea what I'm meant to do.

When I first googled the word, most of the results are somewhat like “a person responsible for giving religious and spiritual guidance". And it’s all about Christianity. I was a little worried. Not just because I’m a Muslim, but the fact that I am responsible for giving religious & spiritual guidance. That’s a huge role!

A quick whip around the Wikipedia tells me that:

" Traditionally, the godparents were counted informally responsible for ensuring that the child's religious education was carried out and for caring for the child should he/she be orphaned.
Today the word "godparent" may not have explicitly religious overtones. The modern view of a godparent tends to be an individual chosen by the parents to take an interest in the child's upbringing and personal development. "

Well,"To take an interest in the child’s upbringing and personal development" is something I am capable of. I think.

For now, what I can think of are:

• Visit him regularly
• Check on his developments
• Buy him cool presents
• Look out for his education progress
• Be the person he can talk to (stuff that he can’t tell the parents)
• Let him sleep on my couch when he fight with the parents

I’m on the right track, am I?

I’m sure I’ll see a clear picture as he grow. And I sincerely hope my role is not more than a superficial one. I am truly honored because Isz & Eliz are among the selected friends whom I am open with. Regardless of the wacky circumstances, they still handed the big title to me.

Fedo's Birthday Bash

We celebrated Fedo's birthday during ramadhan. It was the last weekend before Aidilfitri. Since it's Ramadhan, we had no choice but to do it as a buka puasa party.

Last year the theme was Red and this year we went with Pink. Haha... Tribute to breast cancer.

Asusual it was just a small gathering with small number of invitations. Mostly Fedo's close friends.. And suprisingly, everyone turn up in Pink!

We had plenty of food (the above pic was taken after buka puasa... most of it are gone)

While waiting for the time to cut the cake, we kept ourselves entertained

As it hit midnight, we all gathered and sang

And Mr Fedo was showered with prezzies

The night was filled with non-stop laughter and chatter (literally non stop!). We were wide awake till it was time for sahur. There was still plenty of food so we had a little sahur together. It was just a small gathering, but perfect for a bunch of friends to hang out and have fun!
