Root Canal

According to Wikipedia:

Root Canal Treatment:
In the situation that a tooth is considered so threatened (because of decay, cracking, etc.) that future infection is considered likely or inevitable, a pulpectomy, removal of the pulp tissue, is advisable to prevent such infection. Usually, some inflammation and/or infection is already present within or below the tooth. To cure the infection and save the tooth, the dentist drills into the pulp chamber and removes the infected pulp and then drills the nerve out of the root canal(s) with long needle-shaped drills. After this is done, the dentist fills each of the root canals and the chamber with an inert material and seals up the opening. This procedure is known as root canal therapy. With the removal of nerves and blood supply from the tooth, it is best that the tooth be fitted with a crown which increases the prognosis of the tooth by six times.

The standard filling material is gutta-percha, a natural thermoplastic polymer of isoprene, which is melted and injected to fill the root canal passage(s). Alternatively, needle-shaped pieces of hard gutta-percha may be inserted into each root canal and then melted with a hot needle. Barium is added to the isoprene so the material will be opaque to X-rays, allowing verification afterwards that the passages have been properly completely filled in, without voids.

For some patients, root canal therapy is one of the most feared dental procedures, perhaps because of a painful abscess that necessitated the root canal procedure. However, dental professionals assert that modern root canal treatment is relatively painless because the pain can be controlled with a local anaesthetic during the procedure and pain control medication can be used before and/or after treatment.

My comment: It's absofuckinglutely painful.

Plaster Ceiling

The renovation begins....

I am always attracted to celings. I love the way lights are used to create a warm, comfy feeling. And boy there are way too many fancy plater ceiling design nowadays.

After months of research, meeting with 6 different contractors, i finally got it done. I knew exactly what i want, so that kinda help. To be completely honest, i was almost fed-up of meeting contractors and looking at their ridiculous price until i search "plaster ceiling" on facebook.

This page named "ARPC Plaster Ceiling" came up and it has about 4 fans. I went through the pictures and it was not bad. I made a call and met up with the owner of the company, Mr Rafi, who turns out to be very friendly.

He was suprised i found out about his company through facebook. According to him, his friend just offered to set it up and he thought it would never help him market his business. Well, FB is powerful marketing tool!

So, we discussed, he understood what i wanted and gave some suggestions. And his price was within my budget. I shook his hand, seal the deal and 4 days later, the plater ceiling job was done.

Let's check out the pictures:

Before Plaster ceiling : Dining

Before: Kitchen (notice the hideous piping?)

Work in progress

Exposed piping gone

Dining : 50% done

Dining :Done

Hall : The main work ;)

Hall: Almost done

Hall: Daytime testing

Hall: Almost done and ready to be painted!

While they were doing the ceiling, i asked their help to install downlights in the toilets as well ;)

While the guys were busy with painting the ceiling, i kidnapped their power tools and went on to complete my "Green room". Yes, i did the lights installation myself coz i know how to do it and it would be a complete waste of money and knowledge if I don't.

I'm so glad i took a long time to decide on contractor. Its the way I want it and i don't have a hole in my pocket. Lol!

Suprise Baby Shower

My dear Zaf is due to deliver anytime now and thanks to her sister, we pulled off a great suprise baby shower!

The plan was to sneak into her house when she is out for work. The plan was properly coordinated. Everyone was informed on their tasks, time and the plan. Her husband took the most challenging task, which is to ensure she has no clue!

We went into her house, move some furnitures, get the deco up and get the food ready. All within 2 hours. Yes, 2 hours. By 4:00pm, the shoes were hidden, lights were out and we tried to keep it down on the volume (which is a challenge).

The deco

Cupcakes with tiny little baby shoes

She got home and as we were ready to scream our lungs out, we heard her talking to her husband about their shoes went missing. Hahaha... when we were trying to hide our shoes, their shoes was taken by mistake.. lol

She paused before stepping into the house as she figured something is wrong (She's pretty sharp i must say!). We figured it was the perfect time and Suprise!!!!

Her first reaction

And joy tears were pouring (She can cry easily!)

Zaf & her beloved husband, Opie

The friends! Yes, the theme was green!

Best Friends Forever!

Cats

I went to the Malaysia International Cats Show held at Putrajaya recently. My friends are suprised when i told them about this.

I am most definately not an animal person. I may like to look at them. And that's it.

But the kids loved it. Check out my niece snapping pictures:

My fav among the bunch

Creepy n exotic

I must say that the show is crap. It should not be called a show at all. It was just a competition. People flew from everywhere to participate in the competition (Thailand, Germany etc). And being the owner of a competition cat, its pretty obvious that they have to be extremely protective towards their money-making pet.

I just thought the show would be something people can learn and enjoy. So, i call it crap.
